RUMO is Part of CMDCA

Rubens de Moraes Educational Institute - RUMO was officially recognized for its outstanding work and is now registered at the CMDCA (Children and Youth City Council). With that, RUMO gains access to funds from FUMDECA (city funds for children and youth rights). These resources are released in the beginning of each year upon analysis and approval of the projects presented. In recent meeting with the present committee, RUMO was the first institution to receive the certificate. By unanimity RUMO was recognized by the committee as a social assistance entity with high quality and excellent results.

Yoga for Balance

The Yoga classes started in July for the children enrolled in the PAI Project (Childhood Friends Project). The instructor in charge, Giglioli, utilizes techniques such as Asanas (postures) which resemble animals and different moves aiming the development of body flexibility and the achievement of mind balance, through the use of mantras (chants) and relaxation. The practice of Yoga develops in the child self-awareness and the understanding of their potential, promoting mental and physical tranquility as well as improved concentration, besides other more evident benefits such as health and agility.

“If children learn how to live harmoniously with themselves and with others, the world will certainly become more enlightened and peaceful,” states instructor, Giglioli.

The Value of Solidarity

In a glamorous, romantic and unified environment, Rubens de Moraes Educational Institute RUMO, along with Societ Italiana di Mutuo Soccors (Italian society of mutual help), will promote on November 9th at 8:00 pm a fund raising dinner party.

At the event, the internationally known Italian tenor Lo Monaco, will perform. “We need to join voices from all countries of the world just so the system becomes aware and does something to help the development of noble social causes focused on child education, such as RUMO,” declared Lo Monaco.

The tickets will be sold at $80,00 and all proceeds will go to Rubens de Moraes Educational Institute (RUMO) which will eventually assist 82 children in need at the Bosque dos Lenheiros neighborhood.
