Chicken Soup: The Bingo Event For Sponsors To Enjoy!

The bingo event on May 5th brought together 350 people to enjoy the famous Brazilian cuisine “Chicken Soup.” To help make this event possible, the staff of RUMO, the volunteers, and sponsors such as BR-111™, BR-111™ Foundation, Indusparquet, PPG, BR Trade Acessoria and many others dedicated their time and support working very hard to make this an enjoyable dinner and a fun bingo night!

During the event, prizes were given away, including TVs, bicycles, DVD and others. All prizes were donations for this event.

“It’s gratifying to be able to count on the support of so many different people,” said Estela Benedetti, the institute’s director. “For a good cause we gather those that are interested and take the initiative to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children.”

Thanks to all for your participation!

For Mother’s Day, all children of RUMO made a special card and a gift for their mothers.

Mother’s Day

For Mother’s Day, all children of RUMO gathered their ideas and creativity during their arts class, to make a special card and a gift for their mothers.

“They are very creative, and motivated to craft, and I see a progress in each of them. It’s very satisfying to see them enjoy the opportunity we have given them, and see the effect on their self esteem and overall future.” Said Claudia Letra, the children’s arts and crafts teacher.

The children are also involved in other extra curricular activities, such as English, Judo, and Music, for them to better develop their social and physical skills.

Together We Can Make A Difference!

April 27th was a successful day at RUMO for the campaign, “I don’t have my uniform, but my heart has a direction.” With 18 schools involved in the project, all the children were very excited and eager to help make a difference. There were approximately 3000 children participating!

“The launching of this campaign received a large amount of media attention,” said Viviane Romano, president of the institute. “We had an excellent response from parents, schools, teachers and the kids. It was breathtaking to see 4 and 5 year-old kids so excited to help!”

Devotion To The Parents Project

We are proud to present the “Devotion Project,” where parents volunteer their time to the school, by tutoring kids and helping them with school work. This program also raises the self esteem and confidence of participating parents as they become involved in educating their children. In 2007, this project has helped two mothers enter the work force better prepared, also enabling them to improve their children’s life. In return for their time and efforts, those parents get a monthly food supply for their home.
