Career Training Outreach
RUMO is proud to announce its project, “To Dedicate,” a self-improvement outreach program focusing on mothers of children attending the school, is beginning to pay big dividends!
In only its second year, the program is designed to build self-esteem and motivate mothers to enter the job market, while gaining valuable on-the-job training and/or advanced education to build opportunities for career development in the future.
Under the direction of Claudia Mengehetti, RUMO psychologist, 35 mothers have been placed in jobs this year alone, an increase of 120 percent over last year!
Smiles All Around
Rumo’s partnership with the Piracicaba Dentistry University continues to be an integral part of the healthcare benefits extended to children attending the Monte Alegre School.
Dental checkups are scheduled through the institute and performed during school hours under the supervision of a RUMO staff member.
On November 7th, the dental partnership crossed another milestone when Marielle Kerolen Camargo became the first student to be fitted with braces. Imagine the life-long joy Marielle will feel as she shows off her sparkling and straight pearly whites!
Christmas Bazaar
RUMO has joined forces with four local non-profit groups organizing a Christmas fund raising bazaar. Mothers of children attending the school and RUMO staff members have been busy making handcrafted items for sale at the bazaar. Gifts include Christmas ornaments and cards, needlework, towels, napkins, and jewelry.
“While the proceeds from the bazaar are important to each organization, the exposure and recognition for the important service we provide to the community is equally important,” said Fabiane Ducatti, RUMO manager.
The next Christmas bazaar will be held at Ada Dedini Daycare, December 9 -11. If you’re in the area, we look forward to seeing you!
