RUMO Celebrates Easter

This year’s Easter celebration was highlighted by a variety of special events and activities. Beginning on March 19th, RUMO students participating in Project Friends of Childhood (PAI), were visited by students from Ra Tim Bum, a local private school. During the gathering, RUMO children received candies that were decorated by the students of the school. Students from both schools participated in recreational and artistic activities, generating a lot of joy and social interaction between them.

The celebration extended into March 20th, when RUMO kids received gifts from the Easter Bunny, who brought candy and chocolate eggs wrapped in a beautiful Easter basket. In order to find the chocolates, the children had to follow a host of clues, including paw prints on the floor and gnawed carrots left behind by Mr. Bunny.

The Easter celebration was a huge success thanks to the support of Mrs. Regina and Mr. João Caldas, owners of the Stores Cacau Show of Piracicaba, and their generous donation of 90 chocolate eggs to RUMO. Children from School Ra Tim Bum and School Dom Bosco, also collected candy for RUMO and contributed to a bountiful Easter celebration for our kids.

The Easter celebration continued on March 28th when the children of RUMO were visited by the students of the Metropolitano School. The event was marked by social and recreational activities such as a spirited Judo match, choir and musical therapy session. Students from the Metropolitano School donated toothbrushes and toothpaste, along with a basket filled with chocolate eggs and candies.

BR-111™ Distributors “Step Up To The Plate”

From all of us at RUMO, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to BR-111™ distributors All Tile, Apollo Distributing, J.J. Haines, and Ohio Valley Flooring for their generous contributions to the BR-111™ Foundation.

“With the help of our distributor partners, we are able to provide much needed social programs and education to children and families in need,” said Daniel Pagano, founder of the BR-111™ Foundation. “The current devaluation of the American dollar has made funding our programs even more challenging,” continued Pagano. “We all need to “step up to the plate” and assure the good work we’ve begun continues today and into the future.”

Outstanding in Sports!

Rubens Moraes Educational Institute - RUMO is celebrating the success of this year’s Soccer in the Forest Project, dedicated to children of the Bosques do Lenheiro neighborhood. In its second year, the project was created to steer children and teens away from lives of drugs and violence while encouraging productive school attendance.

According to representatives from the project, Fernanda Nunes and Érika Romanos, several of the children enrolled in the program were regularly suspended from school and displaying violent behavior. Since joining the project and participating in community soccer games and weekly practices, these children are back in school and excelling in their classes.

Currently, of 58 neighborhoods participating in the Piracicaba community games, Bosques do Lenheiro has the second place ranking!

A special congratulations goes out to Renan, Renato, Elias, Cleison, Dalila, Ruth and Carolina who have been recognized as “standout” players on the field and have been asked to play for several other Piracicaba sport clubs that have been invited to play in championship games.

“All human beings, even the most aggressive ones, have the ability to evolve; all that is needed is an opportunity, love and trust,” said Viviane Romano, president of the RUMO.

Congratulations to all the athletes of Bosques do Lenheiro and their great achievement!
