My Heart Has
Direction (RUMO)
During the month of August, the campaign “I don’t have a uniform
but my heart has a direction (RUMO means direction in Portuguese)” continued to grow. Already in it’s fourth month, this program includes approximately 3,000 students of private schools of Piracicaba, who are concerned about their social responsibility towards the community.
The success of this campaign comes from its participant’s willingness to help and their trust in the integrity of the Rubens Moraes Educational Institute RUMO.
We are happy to announce that, Amor Perfeito Childhood Education School joined our campaign this month.
We rely on the help of all to maintain the continuous growth of this activity.

Water, A Journey Into The World Of Knowledge
On August 10th, the 82 children of RUMO went on a field trip to the exhibition “Water, A Journey Into The World Of Knowledge,” sponsored by Luiz de Queiroz Museum, of ESALQ.
During the visit, they learned the importance of wise water usage and about the water cycle. Images of oceans, rivers, and lakes from around the world were included, and children had the opportunity to compare different terrestrial and aquatic environments.
Smiles were everywhere, and we could spot happiness in the atmosphere. Before the conclusion of the field trip, the children had the opportunity to play, and also enjoy a delicious picnic at ESALQ. Everyone was delighted with the birds by the lake and the little monkeys in the surrounding area.

Independence Day
The celebration Brazilian Independence Day began Monday, September 3rd with the rising of the flag in our school yard and lasted all week long through September 7th. A festive atmosphere prevailed and several activities took place during the celebration. We talked to our students about the importance of understanding and loving our nation. The National Anthem was sung daily during that week, celebrating 185 years of Independence.
With the help of BR-111, RUMO currently supports
82 needy children.
