Little Great Citizens

Lucas and Vitor Pagano, respectively 12 and 9 years old, were an outstanding example of solidarity during year 2007. Through toy drives, cloth drives and fund raising campaigns; they brought lots of joy to RUMO children.

Love for those in need, sharing and respect are values that Lucas and Vitor shown to have more than enough. Initiatives like these make us believe in a better world. This gives us hope for a world where all children will have equal opportunities. On behalf of Rubens Moraes Educational Institute; our thanks to those little great citizens.

Time for Solidarity

On December 3rd, the 21 students of Friends of Childhood Project – PAI (Projeto Amigos da Infância), were hosted by Nosso Ninho School. These 21 children were representing all RUMO students. During the visit the children received many toys gathered by Nosso Ninho students.

They also shared moments of joy celebrating the Christmas spirit. “We were able to perceive that fundamental values such as solidarity and love to others are worked by the educators.” declared Estela Benedetti, RUMO director. “To Nosso Ninho School entire team, our sincere appreciation!” concluded Estela.

The Art of Learning

On December 4th RUMO students visited the 39th exhibition of Contemporary Art. It took place at Piracicaba’s Municipal Art Gallery “Miguel Dutra.”

The children paid very close attention to explanations given by Teacher Darcy Maria, Director of the Art Gallery. They were fascinated by the sculptures, the consistency of the photographs and the beauty of the figurative and abstract screens. The exposition was considered a unique experience. It was an opportunity for reflection, learning and transformation to our students.

We thank all the directors and employees of this cultural space for the initiative. This gesture ennobles our city with culture.

ROUTE (RUMO) to Professionalism

Rubens de Moraes Institute in Alliance with Senac Piracicaba, graduated the relatives of the students on December 5th, through PET-Programa de Educação para o Trabalho (Professional Education Program). This initiative has the objective to prepare young adults for the job market. It also works on developing professional skills and citizenship.

Guided by the teacher Alessandra, the students Shirlley Micheli Ferrari and Rafael Santos Amorim, both 17 years old, made a presentation at the closing of the course. They presented two projects identifying the main problems and the deficiencies found in both Bosque dos Lenheiros and Vila Sônia neighborhoods.
